How to Process Compensation Requests Under the Air France Cancellation Compensation Policy?

Me and my grandfather book tickets to Paris on the flight of Air France. We are so delighted to meet my grandmother. My grandfather is so smart he booked tickets from the Air France reservations, they offer us a 30% discount on our total ticket fare. For saving us from the hectic long check-in queues, my grand paa suggested completing the check-in process online. The online check-in process cost us just 15 minutes and we received our boarding pass on our registered Email-ID.

 



With collecting our happiness we reached the airport on time. Our happiness turned into sorrow when we got to know that the flight was delayed due to some technical reasons. We waited for more than 5 hours but the flight never wished to take-off. After several hours the airline declared that the flight was cancelled. We were so upset and my grandfather advised me to fill the refund claim form. I was not in a good state to do so but I needed a refund. So to claim compensation, I visited the official website of Air France.

Key points of Air France Cancellation Compensation Policy
1- On the official website of Air France, it was mentioned that the airline will offer compensation if the airline fails to offer service.
2- As per the Air France Cancellation Compensation Policy, the airline will offer a full refund if the flights are delayed for more than 5 hours.
3- According to this policy, 600 EURO is awarded to each passenger if the flight got cancelled for more than 5 hours.
4- If the flight is delayed for three or more hours full refund with free accommodation is awarded to the passenger as compensation.
5- The airline offers free foods and drinks with two calls as compensation.

Compensation value as per the Air France Cancellation Compensation Policy
1- The passenger will receive 250 EURO if the flight is covering a distance of 1500 k.m. or less.
2- 400 EURO is awarded to the passenger as compensation if the flight is covering 1500 to 3500 k.m.
3- When the flight is covering 3500 k.m. or more, then the airline will grant 600 EURO as compensation.

All the compensation value is calculated after reviewing Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 law. The compensation value depends on the duration of the flight delayed. If the flight is delayed by the airline due to natural disasters then the airline may withdraw the compensation. Air France will not charge cancellation charges if the flight is cancelled by the airline for any factor.

How to process compensation requests under the Air France Cancellation Compensation Policy?
Step 1- Passenger need to submit a copy of their travel documents (air ticket, boarding pass, mail confirming about the delay)
Step 2- Offer the flight number and flight departure timing with the length of the delay
Step 3- Submit all the verified document as proof and fill the compensation form
Step 4- Collect the receipt and ask Air France’s staff member to send a confirmation mail on the passenger registered Email ID.

I am happy with the compensation value and the response offered by the airline staff. However, my inner core of the heart is welcoming the pain. I request the Air France that if in future they fail to offer service then they must notify each passenger in advance. If the flight is delayed by the airline for a strike then a full refund is awarded to each passenger and if you are lucky then you will get both full refund and some amount as compensation.
